MEET THE BAND

THUD EHVUL & HIS ADVOCATES Born from the farms and forests of rural West Georgia, Thud EhVul & His Advocates is a five-piece band set on redefining Southern roots music. Frontman and primary songwriter Thud EhVul (Bain Griffith) leads on vocals and guitar, crafting a sound that pulls from country, blues, rock, soul, and jazz. Live, they fuse Southern rock energy with country and blues soul, accented by jazz flourishes and undeniable groove. Their performance is part hootenanny, part revival: high-energy and unfiltered performances that turn any venue into a party.
With shows on the horizon and a growing catalog of original material, Thud EhVul & His Advocates are ready to bring their Southern roots sound across Georgia and beyond. |
With 15 original songs and more on the way, Thud's songwriting echoes the grit and storytelling of Tyler Childers and The Devil Makes Three. But it's the full band that brings these songs to life, with collaborative arrangements that showcase everyone's strengths. Co-fronting is vocalist Sarah Mac, whose soulful, commanding voice channels the raw emotion of Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse. Together, their dual harmonies and onstage chemistry are what drive the band's sound.
The lineup includes lead guitarist Chris Doolittle, whose fluid playing draws from Derek Trucks and Wes Montgomery; drummer, Darius Hawkins, brings gospel-rooted chops and deep soul; and upright bassist Destyn Perry, who anchors everything with groove and improvisational muscle. It's Americana, but with teeth—roots music that hits hard and swings deep. |
